Curry Two Performance Review
My cousin did me a solid ..
Don’t know why the hell they are so expensive in Asia though. Doesn’t UA know that Asians are cheap ? It doesn’t make sense to charge 50% more in countries with average incomes two thirds or less that of the U.S.. At least make the price the same world wide so it’s more accessible for everyone . A $130 shoe in the US is $200 in Asia and take into account average income in some country’s, the shoe costs in essence $300 to $400.
I really don’t get it and am disappointed with the pricing and logic in that. I know the US is the trend setter so it’s better to have a lower price here but that’s just way off line. Just charge $140 everywhere and everyone is happy .
Anyways, excited to see how these perform. I think these look great in every colorway.
spot on comment about the unequality of pricing in Asia. I really hope UA does something about this. Looking forward to your performance review!

Yea it’s ridiculous . I guess Asian countries don’t care about price ?

Asians do care about the price. UA is pricing itself away from the asian market. Its priced so ridiculously high sometimes that you’d rather spend that cash on discounted XX9s.

Ha I know I was being sarcastic. UA did blow up but you can’t price a UA shoe the same as a Jordan .

UA riding on that Curry hype and think they can charge whatever the hell they want in Asia… That’s why I heard there are tonnes of stocks in stores in China.. My friends who have both the 1s and 2s all said they preferred the 1s performance wise.
Feels like they are just trying to make the dough after seeing how quickly the 1s sold out every release… they didn’t even bother to take time and design the 2s… Similar silhouette.. Similar tech… dull colorways
Come on UA you can do better than this… Don’t follow Nike’s footsteps and think that we will buy whatever you push to us… With that all said, I’m interested in seeing what your thoughts are on these…

Yea I’m sure they will go on “sale” and be back to regular retail eventually. Doesn’t make sense to price that high when you’re trying to capture market share IMO.

Saw these in Tokyo last week. Prices were ridiculous there too. Shoes are nice though. They seem like they will be another very good performer with some improvements over the 1s. Can’t wait to see your review.

They’ll learn their lesson when the hype dies down and they’re stuck with tons of them. Just bought a Melo m11 for $85 at the Nike Outlet store in Malaysia, Beastly performance, half the price of curry lows. Had a choice for Drose5 for $71 too!

Wow curry lows are 170 there ?
Are most shoe prices usually the same as the US ?

They’re about $150 here. Nike pricing is similar to the US, Under armour actually just came in this year and they overcharge compared to US prices, even clutchfit drives retail for $143.

That’s weird and dumb at the same time

Yea man, in the Philippines , it’s ridiculous with UA’s apparel also. I think it’s got to do more with the tax being inclusive in the price. Also, depends on the distributor. If it’s not directly from UA or any other brand for that matter that’s distributing stuff, they put their ‘cut’ in the SRP for profit.

Actually got mine from UA store in Asia and it was still 200 usd. Maybe it’s the import taxes like you said .

Yeah, the pricing is bad in Asia. The Curry 1s were $165 in China. In China, this is considered cheap since kobe elite lows are $265 and Lebrons are $250. But now at a price of about $205, Most people are unwilling to pay that much for a hoop shoe espeicially by Under Armour. If they kept the price down, these would be selling like crazy and UA would develop their market in Asia. What if Curry underperforms or gets an injury, these wouldn’t be selling out like crazy, espeicially in Asia. People still go with the trend of whats popular in China. When I went to one of the best BBall places in Beijing, I’d say 90% were wearing Nike or Jordans. 7% Adidas and 3% Under Armour (mostly Spawns or Clutchfits, occasional Curry 1 low as Curry 1s are impossible to get in China). UA missed out on a great oppurtunity.
