Luvmykicks is one of the smaller YouTube channels that I actually subscribe to. What I like most about his reviews is that he’s straightforward about whether or not he likes a shoe and doesn’t spend ten minutes on highlights (although I do like his game..Luis aka Luvmykicks, played junior college ball as well as some semipro here in the states.)
One review that really caught my eye from LMK was this review.
Sounds a lot like my experience doesn’t it? We actually have a lot of similar views on kicks although I think I outweigh him by about twenty five pounds.
So since I’m swamped with work, family and hurricanes, I’m sharing LMK’s review of the KD X to not only put another perspective on the shoe but to also help a good honest reviewer get more recognition for his work. I know the Kd IX was one of his favorites from last year and the KD X is now one of his favorites this year. Enjoy the review and hit the subscribe button!
Thanks for passing along this review. Hadn’t heard of luvmykicks before and thought he did a good job.
I tried out the KD10s recently. Fit was better than the 9s. Traction was good, but felt like a bit of a step back from the 9s. Containment was good – the lacing system can only do so much to hold your foot in place. The zoom setup still needs work. They firmed up the zoom and I really appreciated the improved lateral stability. Unfortunately the zoom/midsole setup was too stiff for me and caused my feet to ache and fatigue. This also made heel to toe transition clunky. I think splitting the large zoom bag section into a two piece back like the Lebron 15 would help with the flexibility. I really wanted to like the shoes, but decided to return them to Nike and have good back to playing in my other shoes.

Did you play in them long? I found the broke in with time but still not as soft as the Kd ix

I gave up after about a week that include 3 days of playing and 4 days of lifting and cardio. They were breaking in slowly, but I just ran out of patience. I guess I’m spoiled by latest adidas shoes (2016 CE lows, 2017 CE mids, and Hardens) that broke in faster and just felt better underfoot. I’m probably try the KD Xs again after the ID option is available. Until them I’m excited to try out the 32s.

I enjoy this guy as well. You two are like the People’s Champs in my opinion. I appreciate all you guys do. I’m watching you both and in my head I know it’s something I want to do, but I just don’t know where to start. Any advice?

Reviewing ? Just do it and jump in. I don’t mind posting people’s reviews so just send it to me if you want. Just don’t want a 1000 diff people reviewing lol. WordPress is free and it’s what most sneaker sites use. YouTube will give you the most reach but there are a lot of “reviewers” out there on YouTube

this might be a weird question, but, how does the cushioning in the KD 3 feel and how do they fit? (ps: Theres a few used pairs that are mad cheap on ebay rn)

Pretty average feeling . Nothing outstanding they feel like today’s budget cushioning set ups . Fit is true to size

I see that the rubber outsole wraps the heel and extends all the way to the heel counter. Did the heel cushion give you any problems

No issues but no zoom in the heel FYI

could you please give a brief performance breakdown of the KD 3 and KD 4

Good traction for both kd iv runs small so go up half a size. Did not like the iv bc felt clunky to me. Not much Zoom feel in either but still decent performers nothing outstanding. No heel slip in either .
