Kyrie 3 Review
Kyrie 3 vs Dame 3
Randy is right handed
Randy learned how to shoot with his left about three weeks ago
Randy’s left handed shot is pure

If you didn’t watch the video
Randy said he really enjoyed the traction (yes!!) the firm cushioning set up, the fit and the shoe overall. He liked them more than the Dame 3 for his game and style of play. The most important thing he said in the video is that a shoe isn’t going to fix your ailments and knee pains. It’s best to address the problem directly and fix that weakness rather than band aid it with a shoe. I 110% agree and I’m going to try to post some videos on some simple body weight exercises for strengthening your muscles to take the pressure off your knees. If you choose to do them great, if not keep taking Advil.
I just got my Kyrie 3 in last week and they start off very tight but have broken in fairly quickly. Cushioning is definitely firm like the 2 which I personally don’t like since I have neuromas in my feet. I know Randy liked them but not everyone has the same taste and needs. Maybe it will soften up we will see. Traction should be good as Randy stated as well. I went true to size although I could have gone up half a size. I hope to get my review done in the next few weeks as I’m done with the Kobe AD review.
Thanks for linking Randy’s reviews. I found his channel because of your post on the Dame 3. And I appreciate finding a reviewer who is a lot closer to my size.
I actually tried out the Kyrie 3 in store and was pleasantly surprised. The phylon in the forefoot seemed softer than in the 2, and I could actually feel the heel zoom.

Will you be reviewing the melo m13? Should be a great shoe just a little concerned with the traction.

Hey man thank you for the great reviews as well as Schwollo too. Those Kyrie’s look good, if only nike could give us some softer cushioning…. anyway thank you both!!!

Hey schwollo have u seen the ua longshot, it has the same traction as curry 2/2.5 with micro g carrier and heel and forefoot charged. Different upper materials also. Seems like it could be very good performer.

Schwollo thoughts on the pg 1? Look like they will have really good stability. If they perform good they will be a hit

Nice review randy!!!now i agree with cushioning standpoint,as i myself a fan of firmer cushioning
If you have a well trained body ,and proper technique(landing and jumping),you dont need an extremely cushy sole
While im not in best shape, due to my style of play(post up a la z-bo)and a proper landing technique i rarely have a knee pain, only a sore body, and i think that is due to my muscle on my whole body helping absorbing the impact

Nice review as always schwollo. Learned a lot from his basketball videos too. Do you have plans on reviewing this shoe, the dame 3 and the brandblack future legend?

I’ve watched Randy’s Dame3, Kyrie 3 and Kyrie3vsDame3 review videos and it was an interesting comparison, especially in the cushioning department.
Then fastpass posted the dissection comparison among Dame3 and Kyrie3, and it was also very interesting.
Randy and other reviewers stated that Kyrie3s has “nothing” under the ball of your feet, in the forefoot, also adding that court feel was amazing but impact protection was very minimal, while Dame3 has less court feel and more impact protection, plus a better amount of bonciness.
Now looking at fastpass comparison you can clearly see that Kyrie3 midsole has 18mm thicknness at forefoot versus a 23 mm thickness at the heel, which makes for 5 mm heel offset. Dame3, on the other side, has 15 mm at forefoot and 27 mm at the heel, which makes a 12 mm heel offset.
So Dame3 is actually thinner at forefoot than Kyerie3 (3mm difference is 20% less, which is a lot!), then I can say that the assumption that Kyrie3 has no cushion at forefoot is wrong, because both shoes have foam midsoles (dual density EVA for Dame3 and single density for Kyrie3, both Bounce and Phylon are EVA types of foam) and Kyrie3 is actually thicker than Dame3 under the ball of feet.
In my opinion the major difference between these two is the heel offset, 5mm for Kyrie3 and 12mm for Dame3 is a radical difference!!!.
If you are into running shoes, you know this is a pretty huge difference: 5mm offset is common for barefoot running type of shoes, while 12mm is for very cushioned shoes.
I believe that having more heel offset gives Dame3 a more bouncy cushioning feel, while Kyrie3 seem more close to the ground, while not actually being so (at least at forefoot), just because they have a flat footbed.
It would be interesting to follow how the cushioning feel changes in both shoes after some more use, i.e Kyrie3 forefoot, being thicker, needs some more time to fully break in and produce a better feeling.
Just looking forward to your reviews, just to have a different perspective.

Nice job inspector ! I haven’t gotten the same 3 yet so can’t say for sure but the Lillard 2 feels a lot softer (and higher ) in the forefoot than the Kyrie. The Kyrie 3 is very dense in the forefoot and the sockliner is very thin. I’m almost done with it (I was actually taking awhile to see if it would break in )
I’m not into running shoes but thanks for the tip!
