Congrats UA, You’ve made it. Fake Curry Ones have arrived

I looked on Aliexpress.com as soon as I got these fakes and sure enough…sigh

So I thought I pulled a fast one on EBay with a pair of Curry One Aways and turns out they were fake.  Seller was legit and he claims he didn’t know they were fake but what seller ever fesses up to fakes anyways ? I filed an Ebay complaint and got my money back but I figured I might as well take some quick pics and post some tips on how to spot fakes. 
Box or lack thereof

As with Jordans, sellers will have replica boxes that look smaller and less glossy than the originals. Fonts in the tags are blurry or have weird looking fonts. 

 
Or as my seller did, they don’t have a pic of the box or claim they tossed it. 

  

I knew right when I got this package in was screwed.

Sole width

  

The fake Curry is much narrower than the authentic pair at the forefoot.

 Exact same outsole but runs much narrower

Tag fonts

 Just like fake Jordans, fonts are off on the shoes’ tag. Serial numbers are correct though

No shank you

The shank plate in the fake is made of rubber and allows you to fold the shoe. I could practically roll the shoe into a ball. 

Indented at the heel

See now the shoe curves in?   

Fonts and colors 

 Fake left, authentic right

Fakes appear a little lighter in color.   
  
Insole

This is a dead giveaway. Insole should be orange.

Upper

The upper is super thin and flimsy and holds almost no structure at all. Might as well Saran Wrap.

 Shot of the tongue. Can you spot the fake ? It’s on the left .

In summary:

If the deal seems to good to be true i.e seller wants retail for the MVP or Dubnation which should go for $300, stay away . My seller wasn’t far off target and he sold legit stuff so that’s why I went for it. Ask for pics of the box and inside tag and if they can’t or won’t provide them, look elsewhere.       The dead giveaway is that the fake pair can be bent in half and the shank is flexible . Upper is also paper thin . Also the tag font (look at my pics).It’s scary how good fakes are now.

    Hi schwollo. Great article!
    Im about to purchase a pair of Curry Ones myself (scratch green, low’s). But since this is my first time buying sneakers off of Ebay, im a little woried about fakes.
    The seller looks legit, with over 4000 feedbacks, and 99,2% positive. But that small 0 point something claims they are fake.
    The seller has sizes from 8-13. Is it normal for a reseller (of genuine/real gear) to have so many pairs of the same colorway? Will eastbay, footlocker, finish line, etc. really let people buy so many pairs at once? Also do I ask seller for a pic of the box? Couldnt he just send me a photo of an original box he got from where ever?
    Where I live you can NOT get these. So it will be hard (impossible) for me to get another pair of Curry Ones to compare against.

      Depends what you want in a shoe. Fit is better on Kobe XI but traction is terrible on dusty floors. Cushioning about the same . Buy the curry off UA or Eastbay. I’m not sure where you are located

      Nice website but most likely fakes. Some prices are inline but all stock photos off other sites and some prices are too low. And the curry ones are all fakes

        Oh I’m not sure. UA Europe ? Footlocker Europe ? Just stick to big retailers and you’ll be fine. I don’t know who is big out in Europe though

      Authentic curry two are readily available at all authorized retailers . They did not sell out like the curry one since they made a lot more. @askua on Twitter and they can tell you or email under Armour to find out authorized retailers in your country

    I think you got duped. Should say Splash on one and Party on the other . Also the speckles on the shoe should glow in the dark. Your “leather” looks too shiny but could be the lighting .

    Thank you again for the post, will you be doing an article on fake Curry 2’s, 2.5’s and other pairs in the future? I know some people don’t mind paying for fakes because they’re after the illusion of putting on pretty pairs, but for us who believe in authenticity, but wouldn’t like overpaying for what are essentially Aliexpress “boots”, it would be such a blessing to the Interwebs.       Well I bought those fake Curry ones on accident and seeing how readily available the curry two is At retailers I don’t plan on buying fake twos . I did end up with a pair of very good fake Clutchfit I though so I will write about that . Lol

    Hey I was wondering about the curry 1 low friends and family about the insole is yellow underneath. is that real or fake ?
    I know the high tops have an orange sole which are real like you but this yellow insole threw me off!

      I have my ff curry low in storage but my insole on the dub nation is Ortholite (yellow). I think all the lows came with Ortholite but I could be wrong with the FF Colorway. Send me pics on twitter or ig

        Could the shiny toe cap be due to the reflection of the flash?

        It shouldn’t shine bc it’s a matte finish. Thst looks too shiny for matte. My mi30 have the sc logo and I bought off UA. Seller looks legit but might not know better . Ask for more pics

        That’s the starting bid his buy it now is retail plus shipping. Lower starting bids attract more buyers. Sole supremacy start their auctions at 1.00. They look legit. The box is super heavy bc there are wooden pieces in it. eBay is good at backing buyers lately even to the sellers detriment. Hope thst helps

        Well at 275 that’s a good deal. I paid 400 2 times for two sets lol . I bought it from dark side as well since it was free shipping .
        As far as collectibility, you’re looking for it to increase in value ? I’m planning on writing about collectability soon but in the mean time, sure eventually if you keep them deadstock they will increase in value but you’d have to hold on for a few years The b2b got dinged badly in value last year bc the Warriors lost and curry wasn’t curry like . All that being said you’re getting two pairs at retail of the non b2b mark up so don’t feel bad wearing them lol. If Steph is your favorite player and you like the shoe don’t worry about monetary value. Hope that helps!

        You know the zigzag line under the sole of the white shoe? The ebay seller’s shoe has a black zigzag line. Wheras in a YouTube video I see it’s a golden zigzag line.
